**Update: I’ve got the review/preview of BodyPump 67 up here **

Ahh yeah.. It’s BodyPump workshop time again!

In a couple of short weeks, the quarterlyBodyPump 67 workshop is coming to town. (Has it been 3 months already?…. I guess having a baby warps time a bit). Can’t wait. Catching up with people I only get to  see at the workshops and getting a sneak peek at all the other programs.

Naturally, i’ll be posting a (non-spoiler) preview as soon as I can after that. I’m really looking forward to this one. There are some great songs in this coming release and possibly a few surprises. I’ve really enjoyed the variety of new moves in the ab tracks over the last few editions and this one promised to shake things up again.

I’ll keep you posted ….

Really funny - the first article for “to be” BP instructors I found in the web was written by a programmer :)
(I mean your “So you want to be a BodyPump Instructor”)

I’m a programmer too and will start as BP instructor in September :)

Hi.

Yeah, most of my fellow instructors have jobs that don’t seem to fit into the industry either. One guy I know is an insurance broker, another a business analyst. Takes all kinds I guess. I actually get a really good reaction when I tell people I don’t work in the fitness industry full-time. I makes the whole thing seem more achievable by the participants.

Good move becoming an instructor. I hope you found the article useful. I couldn’t find one on the internet either, so I decided to write one :)
Do let me know how you go. Where about are you doing it ?
Let me know if you’d like any more info/advice/help or anything. More than happy to help.

Best of Luck!,
Patrick

The article was really useful! Waiting eagerly for “Your first class” part to appear ;)

I have my initial training in the end of next week and first class probably 1st or 2nd of September. I hope my club allows me to hold a “test class” for my friends before first “real class” :)

I live in Estonia. BP has been here for 5 years i think. It’s gaining popularity, but it’s still women’s thing - i haven’t yet met another guy besides myself in the classes i’ve been. But there are plenty of men among instructors, though.

Hi Patrick, Im an IT project manager in my “other” life, ‘(yeah, another nerd going to the gym heheh) have been participating in BP classes for one and a half year now and going to take the plunge soonish (in a few months)
Am quite nervous/apprehensive but looking forward to it and feel a bit better after reading your article. So do tell us all about your first class!!!!!

Hi Guys.

Thank you very much for the feedback.

All the way from Estontia.. Wow. Small world :)
This may sound naive, but are training materials (Master class DVDs) modified for local languages or do you have to watch/read it in English ?
Don’t worry, 90% percent of my classes here in Australia are women too. I’ve managed to bring quite a few guys into my class by giving just that little bit more. You can probably tell from my other posts that i’m a pretty high-energy, high-intensity instructor.

Good to see another IT person, seargeant_g. By now i’ve got three other programmers from my team coming to Pump, Attach and RPM classes. We even have a weekly weigh in where everyone writes their weekly weight loss on a whiteboard.

I finally got around to writing up that ‘Your First Class’ part in the instructor article. I hope it’s useful.

Let me know how you go with your module training guys. Please let me know if there is anything i can do to help. Just shoot me an email or leave a comment.

Best of luck,
Pat

Thanks a lot for “Your First Class”, Patrick! It’s was a very interesting read!!!

About training materials in Estonia, well, i haven’t seen/heard them yet :) I hope they’re in English rather than Swedish of Finnish. People in small countries like in Estonia usually don’t have problem with understanding English.

Hey, great update on your first class with some really good pointers, thanks man!
I’l be sure to check it again (and holler for help!!! ;-)) when it’s finally my turn next year.

Yeah, here in NL (Cloggie here!) the DVD and all other materials are also in English, nobody I’ve met has any trouble with that (at least not that I’ve heard of)

Am veeeeerrrryyyy curious on chorey for BP 67, have known about the tracklist (and listened to the tracks) for a few weeks now but have no idea what to expect… it will be another 6 weeks at least before the launch is here I guess…. (we in Europe are a lot later, 66 launch was half July)

Hi Sergeant. Thanks again for the feedback.
I’ll start the ‘Certification’ section shortly as someone else asked for it as well.
I also just came back form the 67 workshop! What a release. New moves, awesome music!
The on thing I will say though is that if you’ve listened to the track lists from the internet, they’re wrong! Wrong artists, wrong mixes…The real stuff is MUCH better.

Hi Patrick!

Yesterday night i came back from initial training. It was great - trainers were awesome! Gonna do two classes for my friends this week and start with real thing in September, probably skipping program 67 alltogether because BP is new thing in our club. Or maybe switching to 67 in October.

all the best!
